Beef Asado is a tomato based beef dish that originated from Central Luzon. This is an awesome recipe that you can prepare during ordinary.

This dish is rich in flavor due to the slow cooking of the beef with all the ingredients. The beef can be cooked to tenderness a day before, so you can skim off the fat. Add the tomatoes, crushed peppercorns, olives with their juice, quartered onion, bay leaves, and bouillon cubes

Beef asado is a popular Filipino beef dish that are usually sold in carinderia or food courts serving Filipino dishes. It is also a simple dish to make.


250 grams tenderloin beef
1 small can (80 grams) liver spread
1 tsp black pepper
4 cloved garlic chopped
1 small onion sliced
2 mdium sized potatoes, squared
1 samll green bell pepper, sliced
1 cup tomoto sauce
2 tbsp calamansi juice extract
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 1/2 cups water
1 tbsp cooking oil

Marinate beef in a deep mixing bowl with the soy sauce, calamansi extract and black pepper mixture for at least an hour.

Heat oil in a pan and add garlic and onion. Saute until onion is soft and translucent. Add marinated beef. Mix well. Bring to a boil and add tomato sauce while stirring constantly. Add water and let boil for half an hour.

Add potato, green bell pepper and liver spread. Let boil for a few minutes until potatoes are cooked.

Adjust seasoning and turn off heat when potatoes are cooked.

Serve hot with steamed rice.
